I’m fortunate to have a very thoughtful neighbor who delivers a festively-wrapped package of Candied Roasted Nuts to my door every holiday season. She makes them herself with tender loving care – and lots of sugar! They are super sweet and I love them, but I can only eat a few at a time. I’ve often wondered how they would taste with a little less sugar. Thanks to my friends over at Meal Makeover Moms, I can stop wondering.

The moms came up with a recipe for Cinnamon Spiced Roasted Walnuts with just a hint of sweetness and lots of delicious flavor from ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. They have all of the health benefits of nuts without the negative impact of too much added sugar.

Nuts make the perfect addition to a healthy diet – especially during the holidays when we’re all trying to avoid gaining weight. When you’re feeling hungry between meals and craving something sweet, grab a handful of these spiced roasted nuts for a snack instead of a handful of cookies. You’ll be happy you did.

For more tips, recipes, and support to avoid holiday weight gain give me a call. I’d love to help you stay on track now or get back on track in the New Year. Let’s talk!
